2015: Making Waves in a Calm Sea

Make waves in our industry, keep our momentum going, control change, and therefore our individual and collective destiny. Platinum Realty’s ambitions are bold. So, too, is our drive to continue reinventing our company with emerging technologies and challenging the industry to be more agent focused. 

I believe we, as a company, are doing just that. Structural changes in associations like the National Association of Realtors® (NAR) are on the horizon, and they’re already occurring on the coasts. Agents report not seeing the value of membership and paying dues at three levels. For now, membership at the local, state and national levels is required, but 2015 could be the year that changes. Forward-thinking agents are making the waves, which is how it should be. They are asking why.

I’ve always been an advocate for asking why. Platinum Realty was founded on asking why. Why continue doing something the same way today, just because that’s the way it’s been done for one hundred years?

Nothing is off limits when it comes to answering why. The answers become the building blocks on which we continue to reinvent, to innovate, and to grow, keeping our customers in mind. Platinum Realty’s customers aren’t buyers and sellers. They are you. Our agents.

Industry associations will change. Technology will evolve. The status quo will be questioned. The housing marketing will be mellow. It’s 2015.

Focus on strengthening your professional foundation – taking advantage of online resources, boosting contact lists, and improving your marketing plan. It’s a morphed strategy similar to the past six years in the industry and an agent’s basic building blocks.

Reignite or continue fueling enthusiasm for what you do. Increasing commissions isn’t a goal. There is no “if I do this, it will make me happy.” Sometimes passion develops over time. It grows in conjunction with your increasing confidence in doing a job to the best of your ability. If you do a job right, money will come. It becomes a by-product of your passion. 

My professional passion is being a humanitarian for real estate agents. I’m enthusiastic about Platinum Realty being a place where agents are free and encouraged to improve themselves. With that freedom, they can better support their families. I’m passionate about Platinum Realty being the place where smart, entrepreneurial, motivated agents want to work and work best. I’m committed to continual reinvention, implementing technology, making waves in the industry, and asking why. That’s our company culture, one that can take advantage of opportunities in mellow markets, like we did during the recession, in order to grow, like we’re anticipating in 2015.‚Äč
